greenSpace is a comfortable, sustainable living environment that works with nature, not against it. It is designed to benefit you as well as helping to protect the precious eco system we live in.

greenSpace is the only genuine eco accommodation in an urban setting in New Zealand. The environmental features include:

Eco house
Our eco house was designed by Alan Simpkin from Eco Homes and built by Phillip Wilkinson Fern of Natural Home Builders. Their brief was to create us a house that would be both energy efficient and sourced from environmentally friendly building materials.

Eco living
Our eco principles extend to the day-to-day running to ensure we are sustainable as possible. We are active participants in the local kerbside recycling scheme and compost all food and garden scraps. We don't use harmful chemicals. In accordance with our environmental principles, we follow a vegetarian/vegan lifestyle.

In the kitchen, we use organically grown produce where possible. What isn't grown in our own organic garden, we purchase from local food Co-operatives and Trade Aid.

Eco cleaning
All of our cleaning products are certified eco friendly and cruelty-free. Even our cleaning cloths are made of microfibre and the toilet paper is unbleached and eco-friendly (don't worry, it's very soft!). Our dish and laundry detergents are plant-based, phosphate free. Our linen is air-dried year round. We are endorsed as Kiwi Green Certified, using only eco-friendly products in our cleaning.
